Browse our selection of individually hand-painted African batiks. These authentic African wall art pieces are carefully selected for their unique style and character. Each piece of African batik art uses an ancient traditional craft of working with wax and dyes. The effects are achieved through the principle of wax and water repelling each other, called resist dyeing. We work with the artist Mandlate since 2011; he lives and batiks in Maputo - Mozambique.
Care Instructions: African wax batiks
are hardy and easy to care for. They are made from 100% cotton and creases or
wrinkles can be removed by ironing the fabric from the reverse side on very low
high temperature and direct heat from the iron can affect the colors and should
be avoided! Do not wash batiks as colors might fade.
